Hello! My name is Cristina LeonGuerrero, I am the founder and operator of Doula Bula. Often times I get asked where the name generated from… Well, since a child my family has always called me “Bula” with no real meaning or reasoning. At age 30, they still call me Bula, including nieces, nephews and new friends. Fun Fact: Bula is the most common word you’ll hear right across Fiji and it is used to greet people or say hello. When you say Bula to someone, you are actually wishing them life, which is why I found it so fitting for my new endeavor.
I am a wife of 10+ years, momma to 3 beautiful “babies” and Surrogate momma to 2 handsome little boys. I love supporting and educating others about birth and it was through my own birth experiences that I found my true calling.
In 2018 I began my trainings, developing many certificates and skills along the way. Since launching my business in 2019, I’ve encapsulated over 20 placentas, attended 3 births, and supported 2 postpartum families as well as proudly supported 2 same sex families. I have a passion for supporting others and feel honored to be able to share my knowledge with parents and families in the area. My services include educational, emotional, and physical support.
I am a Harmony Doula trained, HERBAL Certified Doula (CD) Birth-keeper; Postpartum Doula; HERBAL Certified Peer Lactation Counselor; and quadruple certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist = HERBAL Certified Placenta Preparation Specialist (CPPS); OSHA Approved APPA Certificate; Blood-borne Pathogens Training; APPA Trained Placenta Arts Specialist and COVID certified for safe Placenta handling. I also continue to stay up to date on the latest information with my lifetime Evidence Based Birth pro membership.
