Meet Tabitha Ames! Tabitha has been an APPAC since 2016 and recently renewed her certification. She took the opportunity to tell us about herself and her practice…
Tell us about your practice; where you’re located, some stats, etc. Tell us how your practice has changed or grown since joining APPA. Share some of your successes.
I am located in the San Francisco East Bay, and have appreciated getting to keep on top of current good practices while preparing placentas. Since my original certification date, I have an isolated work space. I find this helps my clients and my own confidence in abiding by the APPA standards.
Why did you choose to renew your APPAC?
APPA is constantly reviewing and updating their protocols, procedures, and safety. I appreciate having a community and organization supporting me in continuing to become better. I love being a part of the community, and am really proud of the hard work I put in to earn the APPAC title!
Why did you choose APPA as your certifying organization?
When I first wanted to offer encapsulation, I didn’t feel learning placenta preparation from YouTube was appropriate, and knew I wanted to have an organization where I could learn and ask questions. In my searches, I saw so many organizations not put appropriate attention to safety and especially the attention to the work space itself! I waited until I found APPA, and their attention to detail made my molecular biology, lab rat heart go pitter-patter.
What did you like the most about APPA?
I was drawn in by the safety standards, and I stayed for the supportive community. It’s unbeatable!
