APPA just keeps churning out amazing new certified encapsulators! This time we’d like you to meet Stephanie Trosclair, new APPAC in Louisiana!
We asked Stephanie to tell us more about herself:
I am a wife of 10 years and mother of two wonderful little girls. I became interested in birth work after the birth of my first daughter, but it wasn’t until after the homebirth of my second that I began pursuing it.
After I realized birth work was my calling, I began working toward my doula certification through DONA. Two years later I began pursuing certification as a Lamaze educator.
I was invited to join a wonderful collective of doulas called MotherBirth. Together we serve our community through birth work- supporting, encouraging, educating and advocating for a healthy and positive birth culture in Acadiana. It was in MotherBirth that I was encouraged to become APPA certified.
Having experienced childbirth in a hospital and in a home setting, I support a woman’s right to give birth her own way. By serving women and their growing families, I have discovered that my passion is for women to explore their options and achieve their desired birth in a loving and supportive atmosphere.
Birth work has been life-changing for me. I have grown in so many areas of my life that I could never have imagined. I truly love what I do and I am pleased to be a part of another top-notch organization: DONA, Lamaze, and now APPA.
I own my own business as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) called Rock A Birth. I teach Lamaze classes at our local birth center.
I am a part of a wonderful doula collective called MotherBirth. It is through MotherBirth that I serve my community as a DONA certified birth doula and APPA certified placenta encapsulation specialist.
