I started Skylynn’s Iris Doula Services after experiencing completely different birth and postpartum experiences with my two daughters. I had a cesarean birth in 2019 and suffered a lot with postpartum depression. In 2022, I had a homebirth that was very healing and knew I should listen to my gut and pursue doula work. I focus a lot on preparing for postpartum and placenta encapsulation is something I wish I had done with my girls. Which is why I decided to get certified for placenta encapsulation! I want to further help everyone during their postpartum time.
I service up to 40 miles from House Springs, MO

Why did you choose APPA as your certifying organization? I tried a different placenta training and didn’t align with their training or views. So I did more research and found APPA.
What did you like the most about APPA? The training is evidence based and the tasks are beneficial to you as a specialist and business owner. Instead of just stating opinions as facts.
How has this training changed your practice or added to your knowledge? Added to my knowledge. I knew very little about the placenta before the training. Now, I can look back on the video of my placenta and can identify some parts of it!
