Tell us about your practice; where you’re located, some stats, etc. Tell us how your practice has changed or grown since joining APPA. Share some of your successes.
I am very proud to be Houston’s first APPA certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I have had the honor to work for hundreds of families and strive to continue to serve my community in the most professional, safe and sanitary manner possible.
Why did you choose to renew your APPAC?
I choose to renew with APPA because I love what the organization stands for. Besides the Grade A education, I love knowing I have an entire board of directors that will answer my questions within minutes and I especially love the community of professionals I call my colleagues from around the world.
In what way has being an APPAC/being part of APPA benefited you as a placenta service provider?
It has shown me how to be a professional at what I do and it has made me very aware of maintaining my high standards of placenta prep.
Do you have any advice for those interested in becoming a placenta service provider?
Do so! But get properly trained. It is such an important job and not to be taken lightly. If you respect the craft, and get well trained, you will reap the benefits. Clients have booked me over many other specialists purely because of my certifications.
Why did you choose APPA as your certifying organization?
I chose APPA because when I was starting out I knew little to nothing about the process. I knew if I wanted to succeed and become a master of my craft I would need a thorough, concise and professional training course. A weekend course wasn’t going to cut it for me and I wanted the education and flexibility to process in either my designated space or the clients space. APPA provided all that for me.
What did you like the most about APPA?
Having my very own mentor assigned to me that was beyond available through text, email and calls to answer questions, encourage me and spur me on was invaluable. The entire community of students was an incredible source of support. I particularly like how up to date they are with the information and education. The modules are being constantly updates and they strive to continue to be the leader in placenta preparation training.
How has this training changed your practice or added to your knowledge?
It has changed everything. I wouldn’t be the well trained professional I am today without my APPA training.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you APPA, keep up the great work.
