Tell us about your practice; where you’re located, some stats, etc. Tell us how your practice has changed or grown since joining APPA. Share some of your successes.
I’m located in Indianapolis, IN. I have enjoyed serving my clients and sharing my knowledge in this specialized skill. Being a certified APPAC has given my clients confidence in their choice to hire me and provides them piece of mind when I am to share all the depth of my training with them.
Why did you choose to renew your APPAC?
I love the in depth training and how APPAC strives to always be on top of knowing how to train us (the specialist) to safely serve our clients. I appreciate the support given to me both by trainers and my graduate community.
In what way has being an APPAC/being part of APPA benefited you as a placenta prep provider?
I have benefited from having the ability to reach out to fellow APPAC graduates and trainers when I need a quick answer to a question I don’t know the answer to. Its wonderful when I can tell a client I don’t know the answer to that but let me check in with my training organization and see what they say.
Do you have any advice for those interested in becoming a placenta prep provider?
I rave about my experience with APPA all the time because of the support that I have as a graduate. The ability to work at my own pace during my training and the amazing support from the student group when struggling always encouraged me. It gave me confidence knowing my trainer would respond to me in a timely manner when I was stuck gave me piece of mind. I love the community provided by the student and graduate groups. Those groups helped me make connections with local APPAC in my area who understand the importance of safety protocols and taking care of their clients.
Why did you choose APPA as your certifying organization?
It really fit my needs at the time. I was able to study at my own pace and do the payment option.
What did you like the most about APPA?
The community hands down. I love how supportive everyone in our private graduate groups are.
How has this training changed your practice or added to your knowledge?
So many things changed for the better, especially my equipment! Plus it really reaffirmed things that I thought were bad practice from a previous training I took. APPA gave me the piece of mind and confidence that another training didn’t give me.
