APPA is proud to introduce another brilliant new graduate from our training program: Brianna Biehler!
Brianna is originally from Upstate New York, moved to Georgia for about 12 years, then relocated back to New York in 2009. She met her husband in 2015. They quickly started their life together by getting engaged and shortly after finding out they were expecting a baby girl, who was born in August 2016.
After experiencing a traumatic birth herself, Brianna knew she wanted to support birthing people and their families. The following April she completed her training and began her journey as a doula.
Brianna’s ultimate goal is to provide the birthing person a positive experience and make them feel empowered, well-respected, supported, and encouraged during pregnancy and childbirth.
Brianna is DONA trained Birth Doula. She also carries her ServSafe food handlers and Bloodborne Pathogen certification for Placenta Encapsulation. She has recently became certified as a Placenta Arts Specialist through APPA. In addition, she is training with StillBirthday for her Birth and Bereavement Doula Certification and is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Biehler Birth & Beyond serves an 80 mile radius from Allegany County, NY (Western NY).
We asked Brianna to tell us more about her experience training with APPA:
Tell us about your practice; where you’re located, some stats, etc. Tell us how your practice has changed or grown since joining APPA. Share some of your successes.
Biehler Birth & Beyond is a recently new business located in Western New York. While receiving very few birth doula clients due to being in rural area, joining APPA has helped me receive more business with placenta encapsulation and get my name out there!
Do you have any advice for those interested in becoming a placenta prep provider?
Enjoy your time. While working towards this rewarding service to clients, it flies by when you’re learning great and amazing information!
Why did you choose APPA as your certifying organization?
After researching other organizations, APPA simply called my name. The price and time needed to complete this course was completely worth it.
What did you like the most about APPA?
I liked that APPA takes the time to give their students all the information to expand our knowledge and challenges us to be the best!
