Ivy is a native of Kearney, Nebraska where she lives with her husband and five children. She has been proudly providing birth and postpartum doula services to Central Nebraska since 2017. In November 2023 she became an APPA Certified Placenta Arts Specialist. She provides in-home placenta encapsulation services for all of Nebraska. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family hiking, foraging and exploring.
What did you like the most about APPA?
I felt very supported during the entire learning process. It was helpful to have a mentor guide me along the path and answer my questions. I appreciated that there were real people invested in my success. I appreciated the honest feedback I received during my training. I feel very prepared to begin my career as a placenta specialist.
How has this training changed your practice or added to your knowledge?
I served as a birth and postpartum doula before becoming an APPAC. I did not know nearly as much as I do now about placentas, bloodborne pathogens, or the benefits of encapsulation.
